It would be great if the event/calender function would be improved to enable regularly recurring events - event series.
Scenario 1: As website/community owner, I want to offer an hour of live sessions every other Tuesday noon, so bi-weekly, like a series that runs for e.g. a quarter, semester, year or without end-date.
Users should be able to sign-up for individual dates (select a suitable date, as done usually via the event calendar widget), but only see the available dates of these live session events (every other Tuesday at noon).
Currently, I cannot create a calender event that only shows booking availability for every second Tuesday at that specific time.
Current, workload-/time-intense workaround:
Scenario 2:
As scenarion 1 above, but this time, it is a closed series of event dates (e.g. for a workshop series as part of a programm, e.g. 5 fixed dates).
As website/community owner, I want users to sign up for the workshop series - one event spans several specifically selected dates and times automatically. So web user signs up once, which schedules the 5 different event dates and times in his/her calendar automatically (ics file, confirmation eMail(s), reminder eMail(s) before each of the dates).
Currently, as website owner, in the event detail, I am not able to easily select only specifc dates for availability display in the respective event calendar. And a front-end user cannot select several dates from the same calendar in one go for the booking either, nor are several dates automatically selected for him/her.
No workaround available - front-end user will have to sign up for each date of the series individually..
