The EAA is enforced since Jun 2025. There are some items that cannot be user-influenced but need to be solved by Simvoly re compliance.
1) “Dynamic” font size
This does not only affect EAA but also responsive design in general:
Can we have font sizes adapt automatically with screen sizes, so instead of using fixed px defintions for desktop and mobile (in the global settings), make use of the %, rem or em instead?
The fixed px size can lead to strange results, esp. for desktop with a wide variation of screensizes. E.g. if you define the settings on a 14” laptop screen, then look at the page on a larger display monitor (let’s say 24”), you will find body text to appear too small in relation to that screen size; and vice-versa, way too large on smaller desktop screens when you start of your settings on larger displays.
2) ALT texts for all images (& icons)
Currently, “only” the image widget has option to add ALT texts. When images are used as background in columns or blocks, there is no option to add ALT-text to these (as they are considered “decorative elements”), meaning screenreader won’t be able to recognize them.
Missing ALT text for images in eMails has also been discussed previously.
3) Text-based alternatives for video/audio content, esp. those hosted on Simvoly
Text-based alternatives to pure video content are closed captions and/or transcriptions, for pure audio transcriptions. So enabling user-generated upload of transcripts linked to multimedia content or providing these automatically (AI-supported, as done with Zight??) would be great.
